Project concept and residential architecture
This project was completed in the city of Nin, Croatia, within a modern residential building designed to accommodate twelve apartments. From the very beginning, the main objective was to create a glazing solution capable of combining contemporary aesthetics, high thermal comfort, and a clean, balanced architectural appearance. The building’s architecture focuses on minimalist lines, large openings, and a bright facade where glazed surfaces play an important role in the overall visual perception of the property.

The combination of light facade tones and wood-finish profiles creates a much warmer and more residential aesthetic compared to standard colder or more industrial solutions. Thanks to the large glazed areas, each apartment benefits from abundant natural light and a much more open visual connection with the exterior. The entire project was developed with consideration not only for the building’s modern appearance, but also for the everyday comfort of future residents.
Aluprof systems in Winchester finish
The building was equipped with Aluprof systems in Winchester finish on both sides, a solution that combines modern technical performance with a much warmer and more elegant visual appearance. This type of wood-effect finish is especially popular in contemporary residential projects where it is important to maintain a cozy aesthetic without compromising the durability and stability of modern aluminum systems.

Thanks to the Winchester finish, the glazed structures integrate very naturally into the building’s architecture and provide the entire facade with a much more premium visual appearance. The combination of warm wood-effect profiles, large glass surfaces, and minimalist architectural lines made it possible to create a modern residential image designed to maintain its aesthetics for many years even under постоянное exposure to the Mediterranean climate.
Large glazed surfaces and lift-and-slide systems
Each apartment in the building incorporates lift-and-slide systems designed to provide wide openings, comfortable operation, and a much more open connection between the interior and exterior. This type of solution has become one of the key elements in modern residential architecture thanks to its ability to increase natural light intake and significantly improve the perception of interior space.

Large glazed surfaces help the apartments feel much brighter, more open, and visually cleaner. In addition to their aesthetic value, lift-and-slide systems also provide a high level of everyday comfort thanks to smooth and stable operation even in large-scale structures. In premium residential projects, this type of system has become an important part not only of the building’s functionality, but also of its architectural identity.
Integrated shutters and concealed mosquito screens
One of the most interesting aspects of the project was the integration of shutters installed in a way that keeps them practically invisible within the facade. Thanks to this solution, the building maintains a much cleaner and more minimalist appearance without unnecessary visual elements. The proper integration of the shutters helps preserve the architectural geometry of the project and reinforces the premium perception of the entire construction.

In addition, the systems incorporate integrated mosquito screens designed to improve everyday comfort within each apartment. This type of solution is especially important for residential properties located near coastal areas or zones with greater exterior exposure. The combination of concealed shutters and integrated mosquito screens increases functionality and comfort without negatively affecting the modern aesthetics of the facade.
Triple glazing UG 0.6 and energy efficiency
The project incorporates triple-glazed units with a UG coefficient of 0.6, considered high-performance solutions within the energy-efficient residential segment. This type of glazing significantly reduces thermal losses and helps maintain a much more stable indoor temperature throughout the year. As a result, the apartments provide a higher level of thermal comfort both during warm seasons and in colder months.
In addition to thermal insulation, triple glazing also significantly improves acoustic insulation inside the apartments. The combination of modern Aluprof systems and energy-efficient glazing units makes it possible to create residential spaces that are much quieter, more comfortable, and better prepared to reduce the overall energy consumption of the building. These are precisely the types of solutions that currently define the standards of modern residential architecture in Europe.
Installation according to European standards
The installation of all systems was carried out according to European installation standards, with special attention given to airtightness, precise profile alignment, and the correct integration of all technical areas. In projects of this level, the quality of execution has a direct impact both on energy performance and on the overall durability of the entire glazing structure.
During the installation works, hydro- and vapor-insulation solutions were also applied to properly protect connection areas against moisture, wind, and climate changes. The correct execution of sealing and insulation layers is essential to ensure long-term technical stability and proper performance. Thanks to precise and technically accurate installation, the building received a solution designed to maintain high performance for many years.
Final result and architectural perception
As a result, the building received a modern residential solution capable of combining energy efficiency, contemporary aesthetics, and everyday comfort within a single coherent architectural concept. The integration of Winchester profiles, large glazed surfaces, concealed shutters, and lift-and-slide systems made it possible to create a much cleaner, more elegant, and technologically balanced facade.
The project demonstrates how modern glazing systems can directly influence the overall perception of a contemporary residential building. Thanks to the combination of design, functionality, and high-quality technical execution, the complex achieved a much more premium architectural appearance prepared to meet the current demands of the European residential market.
Role of Safe Smart Energy
The team at Safe Smart Energy participated in the project by carrying out the professional installation of all glazing systems integrated into the building. Due to the number of apartments and the overall volume of installed structures, it was especially important to maintain technical precision, proper alignment, and the highest quality of execution throughout every stage of the installation process.
Thanks to experience in modern residential projects, it was possible to properly integrate Aluprof systems in Winchester finish, lift-and-slide systems, concealed shutters, and energy-efficient UG 0.6 glazing units into a single balanced architectural solution. As a result, the building received a glazing system designed to provide comfort, energy efficiency, and technical stability for many years.
