SSE: Innovation in Windows and Doors
Safe Smart Energy
Safe Smart Energy (SSE) is a technical glazing company based in Estepona (Málaga). It designs, supplies and installs windows, doors, sliding systems, glass façades, railings and partitions for villas, homes and commercial projects in Marbella, the Costa del Sol and the rest of Spain, and has delivered projects in Germany, Croatia and Poland. It has operated since 2017, with an in-house engineering team and more than 20 years of combined glazing experience. It works with Schüco, Reynaers, Cortizo, Aluprof and VEKA systems.
A window is not a catalogue product: it is a specific opening, with its orientation, its lintel, its climate and its regulations. That is why every project starts with calculation — opening transmittance, glass solar factor, wind loads — and not with a price per square metre. The 18 projects published in the portfolio show how this is resolved in practice: villas in Marbella and Benidorm, homes in Germany and Poland, a twelve-apartment building in Croatia and restaurants with automated panoramic façades in Valencia and Berlin.
Why don’t we compete on price?
Because the lowest price is almost always paid for later, during installation. It is common to see quotes that price only the window and leave out the Uw calculation, the solar shading of the west façade, the perimeter seal or the lintel reinforcement that a lift-and-slide unit requires. The problem shows up a year later: condensation on the reveals, overheating in summer and noise that the glass data sheet did not predict. We quote the complete opening — calculation, system, installation and documentation — and fix the amount in writing before work begins.
What exactly do we solve?
Certified RC2 and RC3 security
Burglar-resistance classes to UNE-EN 1627, with mushroom-cam hardware, drill-resistant cylinder, reinforced profile and UNE-EN 356 laminated glass, tested as a complete assembly.
Indoor microclimate without condensation
Permanent micro-ventilation with activPilot Comfort hardware and installation with a sealing membrane around the full perimeter: relative humidity settles around 40–60 % and the thermal bridge at the reveal, where mould forms, disappears.
Automation planned during construction
Actuators on sashes and solar shading connected to KNX or the home’s automation system. It is defined during construction, because every automated opening needs its own power supply and cable route.
What does glazing contribute to a building’s efficiency?
On the Costa del Sol the dominant consumption is cooling, so most of the saving is decided by solar control rather than insulation. We work on three measurable quantities: the glass solar factor (g), the opening transmittance (Uw, calculated to UNE-EN ISO 10077-1 and justified against CTE DB-HE 1) and the frame’s air permeability (UNE-EN 12207, class 4 as the reference). A south-facing opening with solar control glass and exterior shading receives less than half the thermal load of an untreated one, and that calculation is delivered in writing with the project.
Why choose SSE?
In-house engineering team: calculation and technical design are done by in-house staff, not an external contractor. Whoever signs the calculation is also responsible for the work on site.
Systems from European manufacturers: Cortizo, Reynaers, Schüco, Aluprof and VEKA, with CE marking and a Declaration of Performance for each system to UNE-EN 14351-1 or UNE-EN 13830.
Fixed price before starting: technical audit of the project and a fixed written quote within 5 working days, with no price revisions during execution.
Complete documentation at handover: Uw calculation by opening type, structural calculation of glass and railings to DB-SUA and DB-SE-AE, fabrication drawings and anchoring and sealing details.
How do we work with architects and developers?
We come in at the design stage, not when the works are already closed. We review the glazing design, check compliance with the CTE — DB-HE for transmittance, DB-SUA for glass and railings — and report in writing the points that will cause problems on site: lintels unable to carry a lift-and-slide unit, thresholds with unresolved drainage or openings with no cabling provision for automation. All the technical and regulatory information is gathered on the page for architects and developers.
How to contact SSE?
Office at Avda. Matas Verdes 2E, Estepona (Málaga). Phone and WhatsApp +34 637 72 95 96, email safe.smart.energy@gmail.com. If you write via the form, indicate the project location and attach the drawings if you have them: with that we can define the scope of the technical audit and the response time.
At SSE we don't just install windows and doors; we create spaces where you will feel safe, comfort and connection with modernity. Trust us, and we'll try to exceed all your expectations.
